LOVE

This post is dedicated to my Aunt Kathy: Love You Khaki :)

I made it home safely from Kenya!

I've been home for three weeks now and it has been really bittersweet. I love being at home with my family and friends, but I think about Kenya everyday. It was hard to come back to America during the christmas season after being in Kenya for nine weeks. I've just realized how much I really have and I am so much more grateful for it.

Since I've been home I have had a few friends lose some really close family members. It makes me think even more about what's important in life. I have no idea what I am going to do with my life at this point. I would love to work for an international organization and travel a few times throughout the year, but right now I am just taking it a day at a time. No matter what my career path ends up being I just want to continue to be insanely happy.

I've realized: Happy people give until it hurts and love with their whole hearts.

I wish happiness was contagious so I could spread it all around the world. I thank God everyday for this amazing inner joy he has given me.

People always tell me that I am in love with love and they are correct. Someone once said "Love isn't what makes the world go round', it's what makes the trip worthwhile." How true that is. Love is the greatest thing we have on this earth. We should all love each other with reckless abandon. I am just consumed with love in my life and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I am leaving you with some great quotes about love. I want all of you to really read the last quote I included. After you read this blog go and tell someone how much you love them. Life is SO short and I can't stress how important I think it is to tell the people you love how you feel.
Now go and live wildly! (In a good way of course :) )

"From Christ to Ghandi
  Appears this truth -
  St. Francis of Assisi
  Proves it, too:
  Goodness becomes grandeur
  Surpassing might of kings.
  Halos of kindness
  Brighter shine
  Than crowns of gold,
  And brighter
  Than rich diamonds
  Sparkles
  The simple dew
  Of love."
-Langston Hughes

"It is not how much we do, but how much love we put in the doing. It is not how much we give, but how much love we put in the giving." ~Mother Teresa

"There is a terrible hunger for love.
We all experience that in our lives - the pain, the loneliness.
We must have the courage to recognize it.
The poor you may have right in your own family.
Find them.
Love them."
~Mother Teresa

"Love doesn't hide. It stays and fights. It goes the distance, that's why love is so strong. So it can carry you all the way home." ~Anonymous

"The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in." ~Morrie Schwartz
